Over the Top Screens is a family-owned screen and aluminum shop in Bradenton, Florida. The legal name is Over the Top Screens Some older listings still say Over The Top Lanai and Screen Repair. Same owner, same shop, same phone: 941-414-0077.
We repair and replace lanai screens, pool cages, patio enclosures, window screens, and sliding glass doors. We also build and repair custom aluminum. If you want a corporate write-up with a fake award wall, this is the wrong page. If you want to know who is coming to your house, keep reading.
Jared Freddes, master craftsman
The shop is led by Jared Freddes (Jared Gray-Freddes) — owner, estimator, and the hands on most of the work. He has over 20 years in business and 25 years in the trade, working in screen and aluminum: stretching mesh, squaring frames, rebuilding sliders, and putting pool cages back together after Florida weather does what it does.
He started in construction young. Framing houses as a teenager, buying a first house and running work by 19. After Hurricane Charley hit the Port Charlotte area, a friend called — insurance was still writing pool enclosure jobs, and they needed people who could actually install them. Jared went, worked long days, and learned enclosures the hard way: on real houses, in real heat, with real deadlines. That is still how this company operates. We do not send a salesperson, then a different crew, then a warranty department you cannot reach.
When you call Over the Top Screens, you are talking to the shop. No subcontractors.
How we work
Most of what we see in Manatee and Sarasota County is not mysterious. A lanai screen that has gone brittle in the sun. A dog that decided the pool cage was a door. A sliding glass door that has been grinding on flat rollers since the last rainy season. A kick plate bent from a storm or a lawn chair.
We look at the whole opening, not just the hole you noticed from the kitchen. If the spline is shot, the frame is out, or the track is packed with grit, we will say so — and we will also say when you do not need a full rescreen.
Materials are chosen for this climate, not for a catalog photo:
- Fiberglass mesh — the workhorse for most lanais and windows. Good airflow, takes the sun, does not break the budget.
- Pet mesh — heavier weave for dogs and cats that treat the screen like a suggestion.
- No-see-um — tighter mesh when the gnats are winning, especially closer to water.
- Aluminum mesh and aluminum framing — when the job is structural, or the old stuff is tired.
We build and spline a lot of frames in the shop at 2901 42nd St W, then install them on site so the fit is right. Field rescreens happen when the cage or lanai is already standing and just needs new skin.
What we will not do
We will not invent a job count for the website. We will not hide behind a call center. We will not upsell a full cage because one panel is torn.
We will show up, price the work out loud, and leave the job cleaner than we found it.
Where we go
Home base is west Bradenton. Regular work in Lakewood Ranch (a lot of pool cages), Sarasota, Palmetto, and the rest of Manatee and Sarasota County. If you are not sure you are in range, call anyway — we will tell you straight.
