Aluminum Screen Enclosures

Screen is only as good as the aluminum holding it. A pretty rescreen on a racked cage is a waste of mesh. Over the Top Screens builds and repairs aluminum screen enclosures — pool cages, patio structures, frames, kick plates, and the custom pieces that never came in a kit — from our shop in Bradenton. Jared Freddes is a master craftsman with over 20 years in business and 25 years in the trade, including years of enclosure work after serious Florida storms. Family-owned. Fully insured. No subcontractors. Free estimates. Same-week service when the job is a repair; a new structure takes the time it takes to do it square. Call 941-414-0077 · Request a free estimate

What “aluminum screen enclosure” means here

It is not a synonym for “we staple screen to the house.” An enclosure is a structure: posts, beams, roof framing, fasteners into the slab or wall, doors that hang plumb, and then the screen. We work on:

  • New patio and pool enclosures where you want a real cage or a framed patio, not a curtain of screen
  • Repairs to existing aluminum — bent members, loose connections, damaged kick plates, doors that no longer hang
  • Custom fabrication — frames built and splined in the shop, trim, rails, pieces that have to match what is already on the house
  • Rescreen after the structure is sound — if the aluminum is fine, you may only need pool screen repair or lanai screen repair

The previous site also talked about aluminum structure and repainting as its own URL. Paint on aluminum is not magic; it is prep and the right coating. If your cage is chalking and you want it looking like a finished part of the house again, ask when we look at the structure. We will tell you when paint is worth it and when you are better off fixing metal first.

Built for this weather, not a catalog

Manatee and Sarasota County enclosures live in sun, rain, and the occasional named storm. Fasteners matter. Anchors matter. So does not oversizing a patio into something the slab and the HOA will not support. We look at:

  • The slab or existing footer
  • How the house wall can take a connection
  • Door placement you will actually walk through with groceries
  • Roof shape (and how debris and water will sit)
  • Screen type on the finished structure — fiberglass, pet mesh on lower walls, no-see-um if the site needs it, aluminum mesh where it earns its keep

Lakewood Ranch and similar communities have rules about what you can attach and what color it can be. Bring the HOA packet if you have one. We would rather design to the rule than tear out a beam later.

Shop work vs. field work

A lot of frames are built at 2901 42nd St W, stretched on the bench, and installed as finished panels. That is how you get tight mesh and square corners. Field fabrication happens when we are matching an existing cage or repairing a member in place. Custom aluminum is slow if it is done right. If someone quotes a full enclosure as if it were a window screen, they are not building what you think they are building.

When repair beats replacement

Plenty of cages in Bradenton and Sarasota are still good bones. A bent bay after a storm, a door that got hit, a kick plate a mower kissed — those are repairs. We straighten or replace the section, re-screen, and leave the rest of your enclosure alone. If the whole frame has moved, we will not pretend a panel and a prayer will pull it back. How we quote it

You get a site visit on anything structural. Photos help us prepare; they are not a substitute for standing on the slab. The quote says what is aluminum, what is screen, what is optional. No mystery allowances. No “crew” you have never met. “Jared is excellent. He responded and came over the same day. The Screens came out great. I definitely recommend him.” — Chris M., Google review. The aluminum underneath has to be honest before we stretch that much mesh.
